What is the best thing about being a parent???

Gotta tell you. Being a parent is pretty amazing.
One moment you did not even know this new person, a person
you helped create and the next you can't stop loving
them enough.

So many good things like seeing them cry and whine, drink their bottle, etc..
But the best??? Hmm, right now I would have to say the best is that you have a better perspective of God. God always wants us to call him Father. And before being a parent, you don't know what it is like to be a father. And now being a parent you have a sense and idea of what it is like be God. Now you have a sense to only want to love this little someone and take care of them in every way possible.

sleeping with Patrick

Early this morning we brought Patrick to sleep with us in his mommy and daddy's room because he wasn't sleeping so well. Normally Patrick and Peter sleep in the nanny room. It is so amazing to sleep next to your baby who is the size of arm from your elbow down. You just want to put your arm around and cuddle him. You listen to him breathe and make his funny baby noises. You smell his sweet baby scent.

Ahhh, now I know why we know why they sleep in the nanny room -- if they slept with us we wouldn't get any sleep because we would be admiring them too much!

double pee pee + double poo poo

Today Peter went to their second doctor's appoitnment to get weighed. They are gaining weight nicely, Patrick is gaining an average of 40 grams a day while Peter is gaining an average of 36 grams a day.

This doctor's appointment went much better than the first one where both cried when they had take off their clothes to get weighed. And then when butt naked on the scale, both did their best fountain imitation with a double pee pee. And then when in the doctor's office to get examined, they both did a double poo poo too.

No longer newborns

Notice anything different with the milk bottle the twins are suckling on?
-- In the first pic, the bottle is smaller and the second one the bottle is bigger.
After two weeks Peter and Patrick have outgrown the bottles that they were using at at the hospital.
Peter and Patrick are no longer newborns. Babies they are now.

Peter and Patrick playing with each other

Peter and Patrick don't get to spend much time together. Either one is feeding and the other is sleeping or vice versa.

But before bed, we try to get them to play to make them tired and so hopefully they both sleep very well and make the night nice and relaxing for the poor parents.

Reminder: must get the pic with Peter from Blair's camera.

Patrick eating

Here's Patrick eating with mom. In the first two weeks, Patrick has been the fussier eater, taking longer than Peter to drink his bottle.

Looks like the first pictures of Patrick with his eyes open.

Twins reunited

After being monitored for the night in NICU, Patrick is back with mom and Patrick. They say twins like to be together (reminisce on the good old days in the womb?). But from these pictures of their first time together, they look kinda annoyed with each other.

Note: Peter wrapped in white.

Proud grandparents

The grandparents get their first sight of the twins.
