Baptism!!!

The week finished off with a big blast when Peter and Patrick received their Baptism!

Although Peter and Patrick were the older babies, the other two were 1 and 1 1/2 months, I am sorry to report, Peter and Patrick were not the best behaved babies. At first it was Patrtrick talking and getting attention when the priest was lecturing. And during the ceremony, Peter started to get hungry and when that happens he starts yelping and squirming, doing his best to drown out the priest to let everyone know he is hungry. And finally when we gave him his milk, he promptly drank his bottle and fell asleep -- the ceremony was only half way through! Peter only woke up at the end when the last of pictures were being taken.

Dispite the small setbacks, the Baptism was such a success! So many family members were took time to be part of Peter and Patrick's big day.

Some notes from the Baptism:
The priest asked what is a sacrament? What is the meaning and purpose of the Sacrament of Baptism?
What is Original Sin?

Good questions to ask people who are seeking baptism! Unfornately Peter and Patrick couldn't talk to answer the questions. And even more unfornuate the parents were not too succesfull answering the questions either.

But to recap:
What is a sacrament?
It is a gift from Jesus to His Church, to us. There are seven sacraments. In fact the first sacrament,  Baptism is such a great gift that we could spend our entire life "repaying" the gift and we wouldn't be able to. And Baptism is not even the greatest sacrament, that is First Communion.

What is the meaning and purpose of the Sacrament of Baptism?
Baptism is a new beginning of a life with Jesus. Peter and Patrick are Christians now! Jesus instructed the apostles to baptise them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy spirit to welcome new Christians. As part of the sacrament, they are cleared of Original Sin.

What is Original Sin?
The sin that Adam and Eve committed when they disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden. Why is everyone born with Original Sin? We inherit Original Sin.

Ahh, a big and happy day for Peter and Patrick!
