Covering their eyes

Peter and Patrick had the habit of  closing and covering their eyes when they perceive a stranger getting too close. Well at the start of the Vietnam trip,  there sure were a lot of strange relatives in very close proximity!  A dilemma for Peter and Patrick was that although they were afraid to look at  ba ngoai  they still loved her cooking. And so with one hand they were covering their eyes, but with the other hand, they were extending it to get the yummy food.
